Flash back to before the Movie Coco even came out. Freddy & I were getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I took us to a hotel in Oak park for a staycation and it was beautiful! While Freddy went to work during the day- I passed the time by the pool when I saw an aquatic workout class beginning. This sweet older woman swam up to me and asked if I wanted to join her. The nicest lady with a European accent and she was genuinely so friendly. We clicked right away.
She asked me about my stay there, my tattoos and what I love to do. I told her about my love of sweets and Disney as she made her way up my tattoo sleeve. She noticed I had a few references to Jack skellington. I went on about my wedding Day and how I celebrate Dia de los muertos. The conversation quickly changed and she very excitedly began to talk about her son. She had asked me if I heard of a new movie coming out about Dia de los muertos. Her eyes lit up talking about how proud she was of her son who was currently working on the film. I could see how happy she was to have made a connection that day, so was I. As we waved off, I told myself I’d make it a point to see it & think of her!
It has been 18 EVENTFUL months since we have opened our doors here in Rogers Park! There are so many things that we could say to express how grateful we are to have met some incredible neighbors; but what we can say is, We hope you are ready for more of us!
There has been a great many challenges with running and sustaining this tiny but mighty business. Through each hurdle, the residents of Rogers Park, along with family and Friends, have kept us going strong. In the time that we have opened, we have met so many wonderful people. We have watched your littles one grow, and if you have been visiting us since day one- you have seen us grow too. It is with great honor and integrity that we serve each of you daily. I wanted to offer some fun activities for free to keep our little cake lovers busy during this time.
We compiled a few of our fave baking related color pages and would love to share them with you all. simply save and print or access the images using any art app on your touch screen and color away!! Feel free to comment with some of your completed sheets to earn a FREE cake pop at the Bakery. We hope that you all enjoy these activities and we will update some more along the way.
